The story behind Bake Assist

An update from the creator

Bake Assist started at the kitchen table.

When my wife began working as a professional baker, she came home every day with stories — the joy of a perfect bake, the frustration of rushed steps, and the quiet satisfaction of getting everything just right.

Listening to her talk through her days made one thing clear: baking well isn’t just about recipes. It’s about flow, timing, and focus.

I decided to build something to help.

I put together a very early beta of Bake Assist — just enough to support how she worked. She used that version daily for almost a year, running it in developer mode. It wasn’t polished, but it worked, and she was happy with it.

Life and other projects got in the way, so the app stayed right there, quietly doing its job.

Eventually, she stepped away from professional baking for a while. And then, recently, she found her way back to it.

That felt like the right moment to return to Bake Assist too.

This time, I rebuilt it with a clearer vision: something calm, reliable, and genuinely helpful for real baking days. I improved it step by step, responding to challenges as they came up and refining features based on real needs, not assumptions.

Today, Bake Assist feels ready to be shared. It’s still growing, and feedback matters — but it’s now at a place where a wider group of bakers can try it, shape it, and help guide what comes next.
